Barac’s caves are located approximately six kilometres east of Rakovica (main road: Zagreb – Split), a little more than 500 m west of the centre of the village of Nova Kršlja.
Barac’s caves are located approximately six kilometres east of Rakovica (main road: Zagreb – Split), a little more than 500 m west of the centre of the village of Nova Kršlja. The entrance to all three caves is located on the north side of Barac’s Brina (mountain).
At the very foot of Brina, between the two entrances, there is a spring Baraæevac forming a stream Kršlja together with two other springs without names. Some 20 meters lower the stream becomes united with another stream called Suvaja. Kršlja flows for several kilometres through the field and on its east side, forming a number of small abysses, it enters Varicak’s cave, giving it a majority of water.
Rastoke are made by play of nature on the place where River Slunjcica connects with river Korana. Nature played with blue-green waters of river Slunjcica and spread them in many big and small waterfals.
